Meet Our Team

Primary Care Veterinarians

Dr. Cheryl Waterhouse started Waterhouse Animal Hospital in 1995 with the goal of developing an animal hospital with state-of-the-art diagnostic services, high standards for patient care, and compassionate, friendly service. Every day we strive to meet these goals. I graduated from Iowa State University College of Veterinary Medicine in 1981. After practicing in Des Moines and Kansas City, I moved here in 1991 with my husband, Ralph, who is now the retired director of the Chaffee Zoo. We have two children, Lauren and Brian. Our family also includes three cats and two dogs. Michael is a career changed yellow Labrador Retriever guide dog and Finn is a Cavalier King Charles Spaniel.  Sterling and Junior, both silver tabby American Shorthairs, may have greeted many of you at the hospital. Brady, also a silver tabby American Shorthair, lives at our home.

In addition to her many years in private practice, Dr. Warner taught at the University of Wisconsin Veterinary School and for two years managed a large group of practices in California and Texas. All these experiences have helped Dr. Warner realize that what she loves to do the most is practice small animal medicine, helping pets and their people live longer quality lives. She has also learned that California is a pretty great place to live. She loves to cycle-motor and bike, hike, ski and will spend the rest of her life learning Spanish and the guitar. Her fur children include Lucy and McKinley the Poochons and Colby the Golden Retriever. Dr. Warner is very happy to be the "new" kid on the Waterhouse "block", joining our team in March of 2008, where there are fabulous clients, doctors and staff.
